Let's give your products a longer lifespan! While elastic hair ties collect a portion of sweat, the extra fabric around scrunchies make for an even greater area to collect sweat, dirt and oil. Needless to say, after a few uses you'll find the water you use to wash your scrunchies will look murky.

Just like the clothes you wash, the fabric your scrunchies are made of will determine how you wash them too.

Fabrics like cotton, nylon, spandex, and polyester can all be thrown into the washing machine and washed on delicate or regular settings.
Fabrics like rayon, satin, and linen should only be hand washed. This will keep the integrity of the fabric intact and durable.

How to hand wash your scrunchies:
  • Prepare a large bowl or bucket with lukewarm water and add a few drops of fabric softener or shampoo.
  • Soak your scrunchies entirely before you gently scrub them down with your hand.
  • Rinse off your scrunchies one by one in fresh clean water until it runs clear.
  • Squeeze any excess water from your scrunchies and lay them to air dry in an open space or on a towel.

How to clean your scrunchie clips:

  • Soak and rinse a wash cloth in lukewarm water mixed with a few drops of soap or detergent.
  • Spot clean the fabric on the scrunchie clips with the damp cloth, do not soak in water.
  • Be sure to wipe off the metal clips with the cloth.
  • Keep the clip open and let them air dry.
